About Us – Tripslab

Tripslab is a travel project born from a very simple need: to have honest, practical, and up-to-date guides, written by those who have actually visited those places.
Here you’ll find articles and videos designed to help you choose the right destination, organize your trips, avoid tourist traps, and, when possible, save money without ruining the experience.

On Tripslab, we talk mostly about Italy and Europe, with a focus on art cities, Mediterranean islands, and destinations where value for money still makes sense for those traveling from Italy.

Who’s Behind: Trude Dale

My name is Trude Dale and I have been organizing trips for passion and work for years, including blogs, YouTube videos, and digital tourism projects.
I was born and raised in Italy and an important part of my content is dedicated to Palermo and Sicily, but over the years I have also built guides on many other European destinations.

When I travel I always take notes on:
• real costs of flights, hotels, public transport and attractions
• real travel times, not “brochure” ones
• what is really worth seeing and what, in my opinion, can be skipped

What you find on ViaggiLab is the result of this field experience, transformed into step-by-step guides that you can use even if you’re not an experienced traveler.

What you find on TripsLab

On the linked website and YouTube channels you can find:
• Complete travel guides
Itineraries in one, three or more days, what to see, when to go, where to sleep, how to move.
• Practical advice on transportation and travel
How to get from the airport to the center, how to get around by bus, metro, ferry or rental car, with pros and cons of each solution.
• Tips for saving
Good value sleeping areas, tricks to avoid tourist traps, examples of real budgets.
• Products and tools for better travel
Backpacks, power stations, accessories, and services I use or have tested, explained simply and without unnecessary technicalities.

Each piece of content comes with a clear idea: help you make concrete decisions, not just dream by looking at photos.

The connection with YouTube

ViaggiLab isn’t just a site: it’s also a video project.
In my YouTube channels I share:
• travel vlogs and guides in video format
• comparisons between destinations (e.g. where to go warm in winter)
• practical advice that is easier to understand by “seeing” it than by reading it

You often find the same in-depth content on the site, with maps, helpful links, and up-to-date costs. Videos and articles work together: the video gives you an immediate overview, the article helps you build your itinerary.
You can find all the videos on the YouTube channel TripsLab.

How we work: transparency first

In a world filled with undeclared sponsored content, it’s crucial for me to be clear:
• If content is sponsored, it is declared.
• When I enter affiliate links (e.g. Booking, GetYourGuide, Amazon, ferries, etc.), I only do so to services or products that I find truly useful.
• Clicking on those links doesn’t change the price for you, but the site can receive a small commission that helps maintain and grow the project.

This allows me to continue producing free, up-to-date guides without filling the site with invasive advertising.

How to best use TripsLab

If this is your first time here, I recommend:
1. Starting from the “Start Here” page (you can find it in the menu): I’ve collected the most useful guides for organizing your next trip.
2. Search for the destination you are interested in from the “Destinations” menu or the search function.
3. Always match article + video when available: in just a few minutes you will have a very concrete idea if that meta is for you.

Contacts and collaborations

If you want to write to me for:
• collaboration proposals,
• reports or corrections on the contents,
• invitations to press tours or tourism-related projects,

you can use the Contacts page of the site or write to me at: info@tripslab.org

I personally read all the messages and try to respond as much as possible.
